Our Cause for Paws event was fantastic, and there was honestly something there for everyone! We’re still making the final tally, but we raised a great sum of money for the Sheldon Animal Rescue! GO JUDI and TEAM who did 100% of the planning- trust me this girl can “work-it” ! We thank everyone who came out for the Bike Rally, Silent Auction, and Pet Parade! I’ll be getting some fun pics up soon.

The Pet Parade- no charge, and the ‘parade’ will simply consist of owners going on a short walk with their dog to show them off! Our PRIZES are great! We know you love your dogs, and so do we! Sign up by 1:30p, as parade starts at 2p at the Brewpub. The 1st NINE dogs to register will receive an embroidered paw-print bandana, with the Brewer’s logo!

SILENT AUCTION!! The items in our auction range from local art, to grills, kayak rentals, digital cameras, microwaves and jewelry! The list goes on and on… come between 11-4. We plan to set up the items on our second story patio.
The BIKE RALLY starts at 12:30 at Brewer’s… so if you know any Bikers, tell them to head on over because they will get in on some great give-a-ways and prizes too! FUN FUN FUN!

Our own Donna will take you through a trivia bout like you’ve never experienced! 4 rounds, 15 questions each round. Starts at 6:30! Gather your friends and neighbors, and win some slick prizes! Grab a beer from Josh’s SPECIALTY KEG, and put on your thinking caps! If you know Donna, you KNOW this is gonna be a blast!
It’s TRUE! As many of you know, we like to do things local. Our art is another outlet for that, thanks to The Gallery, and all of Deanna’s wisdom! New art will arrive on our walls: MONDAY, JUNE 16th. An open reception is planned from 6-7p. We’ll have some yummy snacks, and of course, the artist himself, John Crum. John lives on Hilton Head, and this is what he has to say about his work:
“My art reflects on emotional issues in a whimsical way.
My goal is to invoke a feeling of peace, romance and enlightenment while viewing life a little differently and having some fun along the way.  I consider a painting successful when it makes the viewer pause, and then smile.”
Josh and I knew his work was perfect for our space the moment we first saw it! Its fun, cool, and evokes relaxed summer feelings… you’ll get what I mean when you see it! We hope you’ll be helping us welcome John on June 16, 6-7p

The boyzzz ride, and ride and ride…
200 miles a week for the past two months…on a bike? I mean a roadbike (think Lance Armstrong)- not the motor kind!
This is what Josh Brewer & David Gorzynski (www.beaufortkayaktours.com) have been doing in their “spare time” as they train for a ride to the top of Mt Mitchell, NC. The ride starts on June 9th in Spartanburg, SC travels 73 miles to Marion, NC and (just as you thought it was over, and time for some BEER!) from Marion the 23 mile climbs starts to the top of Mt Mitchell. The total climbing is 11,000 feet and the last 27 is 7,000 feet of that.  Mt. Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi and this is the 33rd year of the ride, and there are over 1500 riders (wow, that many crazy people, interesting.) If you are looking for a road trip to the mountains you can come cheer on Josh and Dave as the climb, climb, climb to the top. Ride starts at 6:30am and they will arrive at the top about 6.5 hours later. Way to go guys… better you than me- thats all I gotta say… good luck, I know you can both do it- meanwhile, I’ll be relaxing with a Paddler’s Organic… Alexia

Our first beer and cheese pairing! A twist on the usual… This WED 5/28 from 5:30-until. We have three cheeses (one from a regional farmer) that we’ll pair with three of our beers. $15.95. A great item to share with a friend! Hope we’ll see you there!
 
Travis Antoine was Brewer for the Day! Last week, Travis put his beer making knowledge to work, and helped Josh brew porter. An accomplished homebrewer, Travis recently won 1st place for two of his beers in a regional competition– this is a huge deal, and there were lots of entries- so way to go Beaufort Homebrewer!! The Marines plan to send Travis to DC, and he’ll be missed. Thanks Travis for your support these last few years, keep Sam’s book handy, and keep on brewin’!
